Progressive Christians have played a disproportionate role in feeding the new antisemitism that demonizes the collective Jew in Israel. The weakened faith in progressive churches makes them particularly vulnerable to the onslaught from secularism.
Replacing faith in God with faith in humanity to better its lot, they have fallen under the influence of the liberation theology promoted by the World Council of Churches, whose neo-Marxist, anti-capitalist, anti-West attitudes pave the way for liberal Christians to embrace the "social justice" agenda. Since this agenda demonizes Israel as a colonialist oppressor, progressive churches fall into line with the "new antisemitism," the demonization of the collective Jew in the state of Israel.
