October 29, 2026 — The International Christian Embassy Jerusalem reported that an ICEJ-sponsored flight brought 39 Ethiopian Jewish immigrants to Israel. The arrival was part of ongoing efforts to assist members of the Ethiopian Jewish community seeking to reunite with family and build their lives in the Jewish state.
Aliyah—the immigration of Jews to Israel—is a central expression of the country’s identity as the national home of the Jewish people. The journeys of Ethiopian Jews have included extraordinary challenges, family separations and years of advocacy for reunification.
Christian organizations that support aliyah often understand their work through a biblical and humanitarian lens. Their involvement can provide practical assistance, but the story belongs first to the people making the journey: their histories, hopes and decisions deserve to be heard with dignity.
For Jewish-Christian relations, this is an opportunity to learn about the diversity of Jewish communities and the meaning of return in modern Israeli life. It is also a reminder that immigration support is most effective when it responds to the real needs and wishes of those involved.
Welcoming new arrivals is not the end of the journey. Integration, family reunification, education and opportunity remain essential to helping newcomers thrive.
